Emmanuel…

is a passionate doctoral student pursuing his dream of becoming a Psychologist at the University of Hartford's Clinical Psychology program (Psy.D). He obtained a B.A in Psychology and B.S in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut where he was a part of several honor societies and actively engaged in his community. From an early age he knew that he wanted to go into the mental health field in order to help others. He’s worked as a Psychiatric Technician at Silver Hill Hospital, assisted in research at both Yale and the University of Connecticut, and helped out fathers in the Hartford area as a Father Engagement Specialist. He currently holds a couple of different positions across Connecticut serving as an executive assistant to Dr. Maysa Akbar in New Haven where he helps further the important conversation and platform of Urban Trauma®, is the lead researcher of a non-profit organization (V.E.T.T.S.), is a group home provider in Hartford, and serves as the Connecticut Psychological Association’s social media expert and web designer. His goals in life are to establish integrated care as the standard in healthcare, destigmatize mental health, and help improve the disparities afflicting communities of color.
