Community Mental Health
What is it?
Community Mental Health is a decentralized form of mental health care. It's purpose is to implement community based programs and services in order to decrease the number of inpatient treatments needed by community members. The strength of these programs comes from utilizing the community as a supportive outlet for individuals and creating a sense of unity and understanding. These services and programs include IICAPS, home based treatment, long term community-based residential care, and sheltered workshops.
